Volunteers enjoy the day staffing the Oconee Dems booth at Walhalla's annual Oktoberfest. Crowd estimates range from 25,000-30,000 this year -- the perfect fall weather provided a big boost, especially since last year's event endured torrents of rain. Democratic candidates in attendance were Jane Dyer, SC 3rd Congressional District; Frank Holleman, SC Superintendent of Education; and Matthew Richardson, SC Attorney General. Our hometown gal Sandra Burgess Orr, who is running to retain the probate judgeship, also attended.
Happy campers are from left to right, Pam Fjeld, Ned Lovell, Ted from Anderson, Nancy Gutek, Linda Holt, and Booth Captain Lavelle Marcengill! (Thanks once more, Lavelle, for a stellar job of logistical expertise!). Other volunteers during the event were Charlotte Holmes, Anne Constantinos, Lynn Porter-Whitmire, Carol Lovell, Joel Arnold, Marilyn Hemingway, Ruth May, Janet Marsh, Marcia Lyle, Anita and Ralph Stutzman, Kathy Crain, and Tony Marcengill. Thanks all for making this a success!
