With 61% of the delegates' vote, Dick Harpootlian, Columbia, was elected as the new Chairman of the SC Democratic Party on Saturday, April 30. Other officers elected were Jaime Harrison, 1st vice chair; Melissa Watson, 2nd vice chair, and Will Maxey, 3rd vice chair.  

Keynote speaker was Mayor Anthony Foxx of Charlotte who gave a rousing talk to the delegates gathered at Columbia's Carolina Coliseum.

Several Oconee Democrats participated in the event.
