Oconee Dems have begun planning for the 2012 Presidential Primary/Precinct Reorganization which is the first step to the National Democratic Convention ... and the re-election of President Barack Obama!
The date for Oconee Dems' to gather and elect delegates is Saturday, January 28th. The event takes place at the Walhalla Civic Auditorium and begins at 9:00 am with a coffee social; meeting begins at 10:00 am and continues until noon. All Oconee Democrats are welcome and encouraged to participate!
Please note that there will be no actual Presidential Primary since only President Obama has filed with the SC Democratic Party to run in a primary. If you are interested in becoming a delegate to the National Democratic Convention in Charlotte this summer, please read the steps and rules at http://www.scdp.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/If-You-Want-to-be-a-Delegate-11.14.11.pdf
Planners are left to right, Linda Holt, Janet Marsh, Ellis Hughes, Ken Marsh, Marilyn Hemingway, Nancy Gutek, and Ron Gutek.
We need more people to help with this event. If you are interested, please call the OCDP voicemail (877-301-7608); press #1 for volunteering and leave a voicemail with your interest and contact information. A volunteer coordinator will return your call within 24 hours.
